Getting Ready
for Winter
Halloween is not yet upon us, but the
cool breezes and rain of Fall definitely are. Soon it will be time to
change our clocks and prepare for the months of Winter weather ahead.
For many of us, this means freezing temperatures,
snow, less sunlight, and a return to cold and flu season.
By preparing now, you can arm yourself
when the deadly germs come calling, and if you can't avoid them entirely,
you can certainly minimize their effects.

| Recipe of the Month: |

Josie writes:
"To lessen congestion,
ease stress or uplift my spirits, I place a few drops of essential
oil on a tissue and inhale the vapors. Then, I tuck the tissue into
my blouse for continued relief."

| Oil of the Month: |
| Tea Tree |
|
Tea Tree oil is popular
for its antibiotic, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, and detoxifying
effects.
It is very useful in
the treatment of the common cold and as an immune system booster.

tree oil, click here.

| Did You Know? |
|
To relieve
the congestion associated with the common cold, place a few drops of
eucalyptus, basil or tea tree essential oil into a bowl of very hot
water.
Lean
over the bowl (approximately 8 inches from the water, or choose a comfortable
distance for you), and drape a towel over your head.
Inhale
the steam deeply for 5-10 minutes, (again, the length of time should
be determined by your comfort level), remove the towel from your head,
and blot the moisture from your face.
Please
remember - steam inhalation is not a method to be used by asthmatics.

oils and cold & flu, go here.
